High School: Ranked #88 in the nation for the hammer throw with a personal best toss of 129’ 2.5” (39.38 meters). Was a three-time all-state indoor thrower in high school. Helped lead Hardin Valley Academy to Indoor state championship in 2020. Also played football for the Hawks, starting three years in a row and playing six different positions.

Personal: Son of Martha Salyer and former Carson-Newman All-American kicker Nathan Salyer. Member of the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Math Society. Recorded a 30 on the ACT. Chose Carson-Newman over Winthrop, Catawba, Tusculum, Mars Hill and Anderson. Intends to major in Exercise science.
