Bailey achieves high academic honor as SAC Elite 23 Winner

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman senior first baseman Macauley Bailey was named the Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Award winner by the South Atlantic Conference on Thursday afternoon.
Bailey receives the honor of having the highest GPA at the South Atlantic Conference Softball Tournament.
The Cross Plains, Tennessee, native carries a 4.0 GPA towards her degree in psychology with a double minor in criminology and mental health.
The senior was named First Team All-SAC this season after batting .449 with seven home runs and 57 RBIs. The program's all-time leader in home runs and RBIs broke the conference record for career RBIs this season, she currently holds 247.
Bailey is the third Eagle to win an Elite 23 Award this season, alongside women's volleyball's Blair Cherry and men's basketball's Jack Browder. Last year, Carson-Newman had five players recognized across all sports.
