Lady Eagles slip by the University of the Cumberlands, 5-4
Williamsburg, Ky. - The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles made a 2-1 edge in doubles stand up for a 5-4 win on Saturday afternoon over The University of the Cumberlands.
Williamsburg, Ky. - The Lady Eagles defeated the University of the Cumberlands by a score of 5-4, while the Eagles dropped a tightly contested match to the Patriots by a score of 5-4.
The Lady Eagles started off strong taking two of the three double matches. The #2 doubles duo of Stefy Stand/Devon Jennings and the #3 doubles duo of Megan Wilson/Stephanie Goode won their matches handily.
Megan Wilson clinched the victory for the Lady Eagles with a three set victory at #5 singles. Stefy Stand and Katie Brown also won singles matches for the Lady Eagles.
The C-N tennis teams will be back in action today at 1 p.m. against Lenior-Rhyne in Jefferson City.
