GULF SHORES, Ala. – Carson-Newman's beach volleyball season came to a close following a loss to Florida Southern in the semifinal round of the AVCA Small College Championship Tournament on Saturday.
GULF SHORES, Ala. – Carson-Newman's beach volleyball season came to a close following a loss to Florida Southern in the semifinal round of the AVCA Small College Championship Tournament on Saturday.
The third and final day of the AVCA Tournament began early Saturday morning, with the Eagles awaiting the result of the Florida Southern and Saint Leo matchup. After Florida Southern secured the win, the Eagles were slated to face the Moccasins in the semifinal round.
Heading into the match, Carson-Newman held a 2-2 record in the AVCA Tournament, splitting results across both previous days.
The Eagles prepared for the mid-day matchup, which was a single-elimination contest. Despite a hard-fought effort, Carson-Newman fell to Florida Southern by a final score of 3-1, bringing their tournament run — and season — to an end.

Despite falling short in the AVCA Tournament, the Eagles return home as the Mossy Creek South Atlantic/Conference Carolinas Champions, making history as the first team to win the inaugural tournament.
This concludes the 2025 Carson-Newman beach volleyball season, but the team is already looking ahead to getting back on the sand in the spring of 2026.
