C-N Eeks Out Win vs Union (Ky.) with Two Dominant Singles Victories

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Eagles kicked off the home schedule against Union (Ky.) with a narrow 4-3 decision that came down to the doubles point.
The win kicked off the home schedule in the Nathan Gangelhoff era as the doubles swept through the Bulldogs pairings and split 3-3 in singles.
"Once again our women's team shows off their doubles skills and team energy," Gangelhoff said. "We still have plenty to improve on to get to the level for all of our players to be at. We will get better and stronger."
In singles, C-N had two dominant victories from its Spaniards. Maria del Mar Sarda Marti (Barcelona, Spain) and Emma Sanchez Jimenez (Marbella, Spain) combined to win their singles matches, winning 24 out of 25 combined games.

No. 5: Laia Garriga Oms (UNION) def. Sindija Manovska (C-N) 6-3, 1-6, 10-6
No. 6: Maria del Mar Sarda Marti (C-N) def. Aspasia Katsuda (UNION) 6-0, 6-0
In doubles play, C-N earned the point sweeping Union across all three pairings not allowing the Bulldogs to collect more than four games in a match.
