2016: Carson-Newman senior safety Jerry Miclisse (Homestead, Fla.) garnered honorable mention All-America status from Don Hansen. Miclisse becomes Carson-Newman football's 121st All-American. He is the first defensive player since Jaycob Coleman (linebacker) and Eien Jacob (cornerback) each earned accolades from various organizations following the 2013 season. The Homestead, Fla.-native is the first safety to earn the postseason laurels since Montrea Ford and Jon Jon Simmons. Ford earned All-America honors in 1998 and 99 from Daktronics and Don Hansen's Football Gazette. Simmons was an honoree in 1996 and 97 from the Associated Press, Don Hansen's Football Gazette and Daktronics. Miclisse represented Carson-Newman's third leading tackler with 55 stops and five tackles for loss. Miclisse topped out with nine tackles in the season finale against Tusculum. He brought an interception 26 yards to the house in C-N's win over Mars Hill. Miclisse's selection gives Carson-Newman at least one All-America honoree in 38 of the last 39 years.

2015: Carson-Newman's fifth leading tackler with 67 stops. He started all 12 games for the Eagles. Miclisse produced 2.5 tackles for loss, and along with Eien Jacob, was the only Eagle with multiple interceptions on the year. He also broke up three passes. A preseason first team All-SAC safety. Miclisse had a career-best 13 tackles at Mars Hill (9/26), the second highest tackle total by a Carson-Newman defensive back in school history. He picked off his passes against the Lions as well as North Greenville (11/7). Miclisse also turned in a nine-tackle performance against Newberry (10/17) and an eight-tackle day against Tusculum (11/14). Eagles were 3-0 when he had at least eight tackles.
2014: Was Carson-Newman's leading tackler in three games. The safety produced a career high 15 tackles against Brevard (9/20). That tally was the third best tally by a Carson-Newman defensive back in school history and the 20th most among all players. Miclisse led the team in breakups with seven. His 62 tackles were second on the team and he produced four tackles for loss to boot. He had eight tackles or more in three games and had two tackles for loss against Newberry.
2013: Made appearances in 12 of 13 games. Finished with 19 tackles, .5 tackles for loss and an interception. Made a season high four stops against Wayne State (9/5), Lenoir-Rhyne (11/2) and Newberry (11/9). Picked off his lone pass of the year against Brevard (9/21) and returned it 21 yards.
High School: Bayside Palm Bay product who is the 22nd best prospect from the Orlando, Fla.-area and the 184th-best prospect in the state of Florida according to MaxPreps.com. A three sport athlete who also played basketball and ran track for three years. Miclisse was named third team all-state, first team all-Cape Coast and a Central Florida all-star. Miclisse was also named a Brevard County all-star and a two-time first team all-district and two time first team all-conference selection. Recorded five interceptions as a sophomore.
