JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Dan Ahiers and the Carson-Newman volleyball program will play host to a trio of volleyball camps in July and August this summer.
All three camps will take place in Holt Fieldhouse and the Maddox Student Activities Center. A 6th-8th grade beginner/intermediate day camp takes place from July 26-27. An intermediate/advanced camp for 8th-12th graders occurs the next three days from July 28-30. Carson-Newman's summer camp schedule concludes August 9 with a team competition camp.
"These camps are designed for players looking to improve their volleyball games and for players who have dreams of playing volleyball at a high enough level to move on to collegiate competition," Ahiers said. "I personally guarantee that your daughter will get better, have fun, and be extremely tired at the end of our camps."
The day camp costs 125 dollars. Price of attendance for the overnight camp is 215 dollars for overnight campers and 190 dollars for commuters. The team competition camp is 75 dollars.
The day camp is about teaching and enhancing players serving, passing, setting and hitting. The camp will also focus on team oriented drills, competition and basic offensive and defensive game plans.
The overnight camp is designed to take basis skills players already have and enhance them so a player can make their varsity team or play at the collegiate level. The intensive, all-skills camp will challenge and motivate athletes to push themselves to grow and learn the most advanced techniques of the game. Team competition and team v. team drills will also be featured.
Finally, the team competition camp allows entire teams to compete in scrimmages, matches, wash drills and full tournament play with everything organized and run by Carson-Newman volleyball.
Signups are on a first come, first served basis and space is limited. To sign up, fill out the camp application found at the link: http://static.psbin.com/6/p/l6crnf0i1xy0c2/Camp_Brochure_2014.pdf
