ROCK HILL, S.C. – The conference office has selected Louis Keenan at the SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week after a perfect week that helped the Eagles to two wins.
Louis Keenan has been consistently solid for the Eagles all season long, and his hard work finally paid off. C-N Men's Tennis was a perfect 2-0 this week thanks to four wins from Keenan in doubles and singles.
Keenan began the week with a battle against UVA Wise. The Channel Islands native paired up with his usual doubles partner Max Stollecker to take a 6-4 win over the Cavaliers and push C-N to their first doubles victory as a team since Valentine's Day.
Then, in the biggest moment of the week, Keenan was responsible for clinching the match against UVA Wise. With the score tied 3-3, everyone had come to Keenan's court to watch the first singles players duke it out. After falling 3-6 in the first set, the sophomore took 6-3 wins in back-to-back sets to grab C-N's first win since mid-February and snap and five match losing streak.
The win was the Eagles' first conference win of the season and moved them to 2-7 on the year.
Just two days later, Keenan built upon his great week, taking a 6-1 victory with Stollecker at first doubles against Hillsdale's Ryan Papazov and Ellis Klanduch. The pair is 5-4 on the season.
Keenan took another dominant victory over Papazov at first singles. The 6-3, 6-1 score was the most decisive win in the lineup, lifting C-N over Hillsdale 6-1.
Keenan is 3-4 at first singles this season and sent C-N on their first multi-match win streak this season. This is the sophomore's first conference nod of his career and the first for Carson-Newman since Leonard Baecker earned Player of the Week on March 24th, 2025.
You can watch Keenan in action today when Carson-Newman battles Nebraska-Kearney in Rome, Georgia, at 3:00 PM. For updates, follow @CN_Eagles on X and Instagram, or check cneagles.com for full coverage.
