Bailey wins TWSA Player of the Week
For the first time this season, Macauley Bailey (Cross Plains, Tenn.) has achieved a weekly award. The senior has been named the Tennessee Sportswriters Association State Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. For the first time this season, Macauley Bailey (Cross Plains, Tenn.) has achieved a weekly award. The senior has been named the Tennessee Sportswriters Association State Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
The honor is Bailey's first from the organization this season and the third of her career.
Bailey and C-N went 6-0 this week with sweeps over Shorter on Wednesday, King on Saturday and Barton on Sunday. On the season, the Eagles are 13-1 and are riding an eight-game winning streak.
For the week, Bailey went 10-for-20 at the plate, slugging two home runs and tacking on 14 RBIs. Against Shorter, she went 5-for-7 with 8 RBI, including her first home run of the season. In the first game against Barton, she went 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs and clubbed the 50th home run of her tremendous career.
Bailey sits just behind second on the team with a .442 batting average, and has a team-best with 19 hits, two home runs and 21 RBIs.
