Potts/Ahsmuhs Named Pair of the Year, Collins Repeats as Coach of the Year, Four Pairs Earn All-Conference Honors
Carson-Newman headlined the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas postseason honors as Ava Potts and Emerson Ahsmuhs were named Pair of the Year, Cat Collins earned Coach of the Year for the second straight season, and four Eagles pairs collected All-Conference recognition, the league announced Thursday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Ava Potts and Emerson Ahsmuhs earned SACC Pair of the Year honors, and head coach Cat Collins was named Coach of the Year for the second straight season, the league announced Thursday morning.
Emerson Ahsmuhs (Placentia, Calif.) and Ava Potts (Lake Placid, Fla.) were named the South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas Pair of the Year. The duo held down the No. 2 pair all season long, posting a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play. The pair finished 24-3 overall.
Collins secured her second straight SACC Coach of the Year honor after leading Carson-Newman to back-to-back unbeaten conference seasons. The Eagles posted a 10-0 mark this year and have now won 20 consecutive league matches. Entering the tournament as defending champions, Carson-Newman aims to repeat its title. Overall, the Eagles finished 25-2 and began the season with a 16-match winning streak.
Carson-Newman also had four of its five pairs named to the SAC All-Conference list:

The Eagles travel to Greeneville, Tenn., on April 10–11 for the South Atlantic/Conference Carolinas Championship Tournament. The team will have the chance to win back-to-back conference championships.
