Carson-Newman Beach Volleyball closed out play at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships with a split on Sunday, falling to Colorado Mesa 3-1 before bouncing back with a 3-0 sweep of Spring Hill.
GULF SHORES, Ala. – Carson-Newman Beach Volleyball closed out play at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships with a split on Sunday, falling to Colorado Mesa 3-1 before bouncing back with a 3-0 sweep of Spring Hill.
"I am beyond proud of this team," said head coach Cat Collins. "The things we accomplished this season are incredible. We are a great program. We were only one set away from being in the final four—one set. I think that's something to talk about! But more importantly than that, I am proud of the women of God in this program. It is a joy and a blessing to walk alongside them into who God wants them to be. I am especially proud of our seniors—such an amazing group of women who have made this program what it is today."
The Eagles (33-4) opened the day against a strong Colorado Mesa squad, battling across the lineup but ultimately coming up short in a 3-1 decision.
