Rylan Jordan and Amine Kasmi punch their tickets to the Division II National Championships
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Rylan Jordan (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Amine Kasmi (Brussels, Belgium) are the lone two athletes heading to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships this week for Carson-Newman. Jordan will compete in the 60m and Kasmi in the 200m.
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Rylan Jordan (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Amine Kasmi (Brussels, Belgium) are the lone two athletes heading to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships this week for Carson-Newman. Jordan will compete in the 60m and Kasmi in the 200m.
The National Championships take place this weekend in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
"I'm excited to see the guys get a chance to compete individually at the National Championships," head coach Kieran Showler-Davis said. "They both got a taste of it last year in the 4x100m, but hats off to the guys for working extremely hard to be individual qualifiers now."
Jordan enters this weekend following a second-place finish at the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, he ran a 6.73 in the 60m.
This season, the sophomore holds the 10th-fastest time in Division II at 6.67 seconds, set at the Music City Indoor Challenge, where he took first place. He also won the 60m at the Colonel Bev Read Opener, the UNCA Collegiate Opener and ran the fastest time in the prelims at the Liberty Open before withdrawing from the finals.
Kasmi is coming off the SAC Indoor Championships, where he won the 200m for the third consecutive year, running a 20.97-second time in the finals to claim gold.
His time is also tied for the third fastest at the Division II level, just 0.02 seconds off the fastest.
The Brussels native has just run three events for the 2026 indoor season, claiming first in the 200m at the VMI Winter Relays. He also finished fourth in the 60m finals at the SAC Indoor Championships.
Last season, both Jordan and Kasmi were part of the Carson-Newman men's 4x100m relay team that took fifth at the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The National Championships are set for March 13th and 14th at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
