JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - After an indoor season that saw two All-American nods to Rylan Jordan (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Amine Kasmi (Brussels, Belgium), Carson-Newman prepares to head outside after a six-day turnaround from the Division II Indoor National Championships. The outdoor campaign begins in Cleveland, Tennessee, at the Lee University Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Head coach Kieran Showler-Davis was impressed by the strong indoor season, which finished with Jordan earning bronze in the 60m at the National Championship and Kasmi placing fourth in the 200m.
"I'll just say, seeing that progression from everyone, usually we, I'd say we're more of an outdoor team, so seeing us do well indoors, that's definitely a good sort of benchmark to see where we are," Showler-Davis said. "Hopefully, everyone on the team, and not just these guys, but everyone on the team, makes that next jump and does even better outdoors."
Seventeen team members received All-Region honors from USTFCCCA.
The Eagles will head back to Lee on May 9th for the Lee University Last Chance ahead of the 2026 Division II Outdoor National Championships in Emporia, Kansas, on May 21st to 23rd.
The outdoor season features multiple trips within the Volunteer State, as well to Emory & Henry a pair of times, with two events in Georgia and one in Gainesville, Florida for the Tom Jones Memorial.
It has been a hectic sequence for Showler-Davis and company, but they are excited for what lies ahead in the 2026 outdoor season.
The Lee University Invitational begins tomorrow, and the events will continue on Saturday at the Ray Conn Sports Complex.
